In a bid to reach younger job seekers and reaffirm its market leader position in Scotland, the new TV ad, which airs for the first time this evening on STV, features a glaikit, young Scot who’s love for life is re-ignited with a new job, thanks to s1jobs.
Previously known for its comical award winning TV ads including the iconic “Here lavvy heid, you’re getting it, ” s1jobs wanted to reclaim its very Scottish sense of humour ensuring it reach a new younger audience. In addition the brand has revealed a new look logo, dropping the .com from its brand and rolling out a more contemporary look and feel.
Despite the current cost of living crisis, the jobs market is buoyant with job seekers spoiled for choice when it comes to vacancies. Managing Director of s1jobs, Gavin Mochan, said: “It’s very much an employee’s market right now. There’s a huge candidate shortage, much of which is down to Brexit being a barrier to overseas workers. There’s also still a huge hangover from covid which saw thousands of people take stock of their current job and try something new.

“Employers are under huge pressure to change their ways of working and benefit offering. The younger generation now have expectations of hybrid working and four day weeks as standard and that’s encouraging employers to rethink their approach in order to attract the best talent. Just like employers are having to adjust their practices to attract a younger audience, we too are having to shake things up to keep us relevant to young job seekers.”
The ad, which was created, by Glasgow based agency, Frame is supported by radio advertising, press, social and digital display ads. Chloe McKechnie, Marketing Director for s1jobs said: “We knew we needed a change in direction to both appeal to our existing users but also to attract a new younger audience. This needed to be about reclaiming our iconic status as a very Scottish brand. We want everyone to know that we understand the Scottish jobs market better than anyone else. We wanted something that was youthful, full of life but still supported s1jobs’ very Scottish roots, and this new ad just nails it.”
