You will be joining our team at a truly exciting time for Worcestershire with the launch of our multi-million pound Urgent and Emergency Care development on the Worcestershire Royal Hospital site. This will bring the Acute Medicine and Emergency Medicine footprint under one roof, and bring our front-door teams closer together.

A new 28-bedded Acute Medical Unit (AMU), and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) area capable of caring for 18 patients on chairs and 12 patients on trolleys has already opened and is providing an improved experience for patients.

I joined the Trust back in 2017, originally applying for a different position (as an EDA) in the Emergency Department (ED), in my interview they believed that my skills would be better suited to a health care assistant (HCA) role.

In Urgent Care, every shift will be different. You won't know what's coming through the door next - a mom carrying a febrile infant, an 80-year-old with chest pain or a young child with a head injury. That’s why we need staff who are driven, enthusiastic, and can think on their feet approaching each patient with the same incredible level of care, regardless of their situation.

Being able to work as a team is essential as we work closely with a variety of multidisciplinary teams throughout the hospital including Specialist Doctors, Pharmacists, Physiotherapists, Radiographers, Mental Health, Cardiology Nurses, and Alcohol Liaison Nurses.
