JOB DETAILS: The Zambia Health Education and Communication Trust (ZHECT), an indigenous Zambian NGO, registered under the laws of Zambia is dedicated to providing high quality health services, social behaviour change interventions, research and capacity building for the improvement of the health status and general wellness of people in Zambia. ZHECT’s focus is HIV/AIDS/STI prevention, Sexual Reproductive Health, Gender Based Violence and Economic Empowerment among vulnerable and hard to reach communities. Currently, Zambia Health Education and Communications Trust (ZHECT) in partnership with FHI 360 has been implementing the USAID Open Doors Project (ODP). In its quest to continue providing services and increase coverage, ZHECT will be recruiting to fill the following vacancies: 6 LAY COUNSELLORS This position falls under Grade 6 of the ZHECT grading system. The successful candidate will provide pre-test and post-test counselling services to individuals and couples to help them have more effective psychological and behavioural adjustments and contribute to averting new HIV infections and to promote access to treatment, care and support in line with the approved national standards. S/he should have a Grade 12 certificate with a diploma or certificate in Psychosocial Counselling. The candidate should be registered and have a valid practicing license with Zambia Counselling Council and certification in conducting HIV rapid tests. Adherence counselling skills training is vital for this position..
